Carmelo Rodero Crianza is a red wine from Spain’s Ribera del Duero appellation, produced by Bodegas Carmelo Rodero in Pedrosa de Duero, Burgos. Its style brings together ripe fruit, structure and the complexity developed during oak ageing. It is an appealing option if you enjoy expressive Spanish red wines but still want balance and a smooth, polished texture.

The main grape is Tinto Fino, the local name for Tempranillo. The producer’s current information also mentions small contributions from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Albillo. For the vintage described by the winery, grapes come from vineyards around 30 to 35 years old, planted at elevations above 800 metres in Ribera del Duero. Vineyard details and the exact blend can change with the release, so check the bottle when a particular vintage matters.

Bodegas Carmelo Rodero highlights hand harvesting, careful selection in the vineyard and its approach to gravity-based winemaking. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, which can contribute toasted and spicy layers and help the tannins develop. The winery’s technical material can differ by vintage, so the precise barrel-ageing period should be checked against the release actually offered.

Tasting notes point to raspberry and blackberry, with accents of toasted bread and spice. On the palate, expect a generous but balanced character, integrated tannins and a lingering finish. These notes are intended to describe the wine’s general style, not a guaranteed experience: serving temperature, vintage and bottle evolution all affect what you taste.

The combination of fruit, oak and structure makes it a natural partner for grilled red meat, roasts, slow-cooked stews and mature cheeses. It can also suit a special dinner or make a thoughtful gift for someone exploring Ribera del Duero. Match the wine’s intensity to the dish, while keeping personal taste at the centre of the choice.

Check the current price and availability on this product page. You can also compare it with other Ribera del Duero reds in the shop to choose the producer, style and ageing profile that best fits your preferences before adding a bottle to your basket.

Carmelo Rodero Crianza is a Ribera del Duero red made mainly from Tinto Fino with small additions of other grapes.
