Los Quiñones de Tobelos 2019

Bodega Tobelos is located in Briñas -near Haro-, one of the areas with the richest winemaking tradition in Rioja. It belongs to Rioja Alta and is influenced, on one side, by the Sierra Cantabria and, on the other, by the long course of the Ebro River. The project began in the last decade of the 20th century and has been growing year by year in quality and diversity of labels. Harvesting is mostly done manually, as the vineyards surround the winery, allowing for very thorough maturity control, with each of the different plots vinified separately in a fragmented manner before deciding on the wines to be produced based on the harvest evolution. Los Quiñones de Tobelos is one of the wines from the single-parcel range within the winery. Los Quiñones, in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, is a low-yield Viura vineyard. After harvesting, the grapes are chilled in a cold room and then fermented in 500-liter foudres, 225-liter barrels, and 200-liter stainless steel tanks. As the wines complete their fermentation, they are blended and later aged for about 9 months on their fine lees.
