Sericis Monastrell is a red wine made from 100% Monastrell grapes, sourced from the DO Alicante, a warm climate zone with strong Mediterranean influence and interior contrasts that favor optimal grape maturation. The harvest is done manually, followed by de-stemming and a gentle crushing of the grapes. The must undergoes a cold pre-fermentation maceration for 3-4 days and then ferments with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature of up to 26 °C. After about 21 days of maceration, the wine is racked. The wine ages for a minimum of 14 months in new French oak barrels, adding complexity and structure. The result is an intense and elegant wine, with aromas of ripe black fruit, spicy and toasted notes, and a powerful, balanced mouthfeel with soft and persistent tannins.
