El Cel is a red wine from the D.O. Priorat produced by Merum Priorati from a selection of Garnacha Tinta, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cariñena, and Syrah sourced from the highest vineyards of the estate in Porrera. After hand harvesting and fermentation in stainless steel tanks with a 30-day maceration, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and an 18-month aging in new French oak barrels, followed by a long evolution in bottle before commercialization. On the nose, there are aromas of ripe blueberries and other dark fruits, accompanied by notes of pastry, toasting, chocolate, truffle, and black licorice. On the palate, it is broad, powerful, and elegant, with very well-integrated minerality, silky tannins, and a long, complex finish that reflects the character of great wines from Priorat.
