Alta Alella is located right in the heart of the Natural Park of the Serralada de Marina, in the Catalan region of Maresme. On a Mediterranean balcony and close to Barcelona, you will find the Noucentista estate of Can Genís, a dream realized by the Pujol-Busquets Guillén family. A family deeply rooted in viticulture, Josep Maria and Cristina have fully dedicated themselves to wine and sparkling wines. Today, they have successfully passed the torch to their two daughters, Mireia and Georgina. All their products enter the market with organic farming certification, creating an ecosystem in harmony with native flora and fauna. Merla is a red monovarietal wine made from Mataró grapes (a synonym for Monastrell, perfectly adapted to DO Alella). It ferments in wooden vats and then spends an average of 3 months in 225-liter oak barrels before bottling. No sulfites or any other products are added during its production.
