Ontañón is a family winery with several generations behind the viticulture and production of quality wines. Located in the capital of the Rioja community, they produce both traditional-style wines and others in line with new market trends, all adhering to the highest quality standards in all their brands. Ontañón Reserva is made primarily from Tempranillo grapes over 30 years old in the Sierra de Yerga and a smaller percentage of Graciano (5%), both vineyards planted at high altitudes in the Rioja Oriental wine region. After fermentation, the wine spends 24 months in a combination of American oak barrels (60%) and French oak barrels (40%). Following bottling, it is refined in the winery for an additional 2 years before being released to the market.
