Mont Rubí is a winery within the DO Penedès (Alt Penedès), located at the base of the old Cooperative building in the town of l’Avellà (dating back to the 18th century). With new ownership in the mid-80s of the last century, their wines gained fame through the work of recovering ancestral Catalan varieties, especially Sumoll. El Serres Velles Garnatxa is a red wine made 100% from Garnacha Tinta grapes and minimal intervention. It is cold-soaked without destemming and ferments slowly in stainless steel with gentle extractions, then stabilizes and ages for a minimum of 6 months in semi-new French oak barrels, without added sulfites throughout the process. The vineyard was planted in 2021 on calcareous soils.
