Quinta Couselo is a historic winery and a pioneer of the Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin in Galicia. Its surroundings are full of charm, essence, and the tradition of centuries-old Galician viticulture. In fact, its history is closely linked to the majestic Cistercian monastery of Santa Maria de Oia, whose monks already discovered the potential of the O Rosal Valley for vine cultivation. Ultimately, Quinta Couselo is one of the oldest dated wineries in the Rías Baixas, producing wines since the mid-19th century. Quinta Couselo O Rosal is a white wine dominated by Albariño grapes, complemented, as is typical in the O Rosal subzone, by Caíño Blanco and Loureira. These varieties ferment separately at controlled temperatures and are later blended, aging on their fine lees for 6 months before bottling. Turonia is a white wine made 100% from Albariño from about 8 hectares of estate-owned vineyards, which ages on its fine lees for 4 to 6 months.
